News : AAEON Launch Eco-Friendly Atom-based Embedded System

IMPULSE are pleased to announce the launch of AAEON’s “Green Embedded Systems” and “Green Communication Servers” as part of their eco-friendly product line. The first unit to arrive is the GES-1100F with several other systems due to launch later on in 2010. All of AAEON’s Green Embedded Systems are certified and fully compliant with ENERGY STAR regulations.
The GES-1100F uses the Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz) processor and Intel 945GSE/ICH7M chipset. In addition, the system supports up to 2GB DDRII (400/533MHz) SODIMM memory. The GES-1100F input/output includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports, four COMs ports, six USB2.0 ports and 8 channels of digital I/O.
"AAEON's green concept on designing the electronic equipments is an eco idea for protecting the earth. By equipping the processor with low power consumption and high performance abilities, we achieve a smoother operation and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions. AAEON's Green Embedded Systems are environmentally-friendly solutions based on this concept. The Fanless design is another eco idea for this product line,” said Sean Lin, Product Manager of AAEON's Industrial System Division. "The GES-1100F was designed to target multimedia applications, such as Digital Signage, outdoor display, KIOSK, and POS. This model deploys excellent video and 2CH audio with HD Audio Codec function. With the increasing demands of high performance in audio and video, AAEON hopes the Green Embedded System will fulfil the needs of multimedia and digital signage applications of the present and future," added Sean.
In addition to having ENERGY STAR certification, the GES-1100F is ROHS compliant.
