Impulse launch Advantech ARK-1120 fanless embedded PC

Impulse is pleased to announce the launch of the ARK-1120 from Advantech. The ARK-1120 is a fanless, ultra-compact embedded PC featuring the Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz processor with an integrated GPU and memory controller. The Atom N455 also introduces enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology enabling the CPU to adjust its voltage and frequency in tandem between high and low levels in response to processor load. When the load on the CPU is minimal, it can dynamically reduce its voltage and frequency to produce less heat and consume less power making the ARK-1120 a perfect fit for embedded applications.

The ultra compact ARK-1120 features an efficiently designed IP40 rugged aluminium chassis that measures in at W133mm x H43mm x D94mm and weighs just 0.7kg. For added convenience the ARK-1120 can be mounted upon a wall with a VESA mounted bracket or on the back of a VESA compatible monitor or display.

Despite its compact design the ARK-1120 offers plentiful I/O including 4 x USB2.0 ports and 2 x RS-232 ports. Networking functionality on the ARK-1120 includes a high performance 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet port featuring Wake-on-LAN functionality as standard. The ARK-1120 also includes a half-size Mini PCIe expansion port allowing users to improve system performance with additional capabilities such as GPS, WiFi or HSDPA/3G. For storage, the ARK-1120 can accommodate a 2.5” SATA hard drive (9.5mm height only) and a CompactFlash type I/II socket.

The ARK-1120 is compatible with a range of Microsoft operating systems including the Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard family, Windows CE 6.0, Windows XP Professional and Windows 7. As a Microsoft Windows Embedded Silver Partner, Impulse can support you in the development of a customised Windows Embedded operating system image designed specifically for the ARK-1120.
