Serial Line Drivers & Converters
Our limited distance serial line drivers protect host computers and equipment and extend the distances over which computers, terminals, and other devices can communicate within hazardous industrial and institutional environments.
With built-in optical isolation these heavy duty modems "harden" and protect expensive systems and can extend serial communications for many miles without expensive cabling.

Our Isolated RS-232 to RS-422 and RS-485 Converters are designed to "harden", protect and extend operating ranges using the standard RS-232/422/485 protocols and specifications.
All the modules offer isolated protection providing immunity from ground loops and surges often found in industrial environments.

Fibre optic transmission offers wide bandwidth, immunity to EMI/RFI interference, and secured data transmission. The fibre-optic converter is used as an RS-232/422/485 point-to-point or point-to-multipoint connection for transmitting and converting full/half-duplex signals and their equivalents within a fibre environment.
Fibre optics is ideal for applications where the transmission medium must be protected from electrical exposure, lightning, atmospheric conditions or corrosion.

Most industrial computers come with standard RS-232 serial ports. Though widely accepted, RS-232 has limited transmission speed, range and networking capabilities. The RS-422/485 standards overcome these limitations by using differential voltage lines for data and control signals.
These ADAM module repeaters boosts existing RS-422/485 signals to enable them to cover longer distances. It extends the communication distance by 1200m or increases the maximum number of connected nodes to 32.
