The GENE-TC05 is a low powered single board computer equipped with the latest Intel Atom E680 / E620 Tunnel Creek fanless processor. The Intel Atom E600 series integrates the graphics processing unit and memory controller within the processor enabling lower power consumption and reduced heat output.

The on-chip graphics processor in the GENE-TC05 features the Intel GMA-600 Graphics Controller, with support for OpenGLE2.0, OpenGL 2.1 and OpenVG 1.1 graphics libraries and hardware accelerated HD video decoding (MPEG-4 pt2, H.264, WMV and VV1) and encoding (MPEG-4 pt 2 and H264). The on-chip GMA-600 graphics controller provides the GENE-TC05 with 50% greater graphical performance over previous Z-Series Atom processors whilst maintaining a similar power consumption footprint.

Expansion capabilities on the GENE-TC05 includes four USB2.0 ports, six serial COM interfaces, a CANBus interface, 8-bit Digital I/O, dual Gigabit Ethernet with Wake-on-LAN support, a SATA3.0 port, a CFast socket, two MiniCard sockets.
