New Generation of EKI-1220 Series Modbus Data Gateways Available Now

IMPULSE are pleased to introduce the advanced Serial Device Server EKI-1220 series Modbus Data Gateway from Advantech.

Featuring speedy 1, 2 or 4 RS-232/422/485 serial ports with the addition of 2 x 10/100 RJ45 Ethernet ports. EKI-1221, EKI-1222 and EKI-1224 Modbus data gateways support Modbus TRU/ASCII master and slave modes simultaneously, with high speed data transfer rates and dual LAN redundancy, providing the most modern and reliable Modbus data gateways available.

The advanced EKI-1220 series Modbus Gateways support 16 TCP masters, 16 TCP slaves. Each serial port supports up to 31 RTU/ASCII slave devices. Dual Ethernet ports allow the EKI-1220 series to establish two separate physical Ethernet connections. This enables redundancy back up if one connection is broken or lost. The EKI 1200 series also has built-in dual power inputs (DC 12~48V) with 1 power fail relay output to detect power operation status and ensure reliable operation.

Like other members of the EKI industrial Ethernet family, the EKI-1200 series is built in a compact and thin DIN-rail mount form factor with an IP30 metal housing, 3000V DC surge protection for the power line plus 4000 V DC ESD protection on the Ethernet ports.

Operating temperatures scale from 0 to 60c. Under any rigorous environment conditions, the EKI-1221, EKI-1222 and EKI-1224 provide non-stop operations with advanced features and user-friendly designs.

Sealevel Showcase ACC-188 at SOFIC 2010

IMPULSE partner, Sealevel Systems recently launched their ACC-188 Synchronous Serial Radio Adaptor and the ACC-188 was showcased at the 2010 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference in Tampa Florida.

The ACC-188 Tactical Serial Radio Adaptor follows the MIL-STD-188-184 interoperability and performance standard for the Data Control Waveform.

It provides a high speed interoperable data solution that encompasses a Synchronous Radio Adapter Cable for universal connection between tactical radios and computers.

The ACC-188 is compatible with a wide range of tactical radio types, including:

MBMMR
MBITR
JTRS

The ACC-188 also comes with the government-developed and owned PDA-184 software from the Defence Industry Security Association (DISA). The software is easy to install and provides a graphical user interface that allows the user to transmit and receive a wide variety of data types at higher speeds compared to other proprietary solutions. The ACC-188 is available with a PCMCIA or USB interface.

New Product - eBOX-621-831-FL With Wide DC Input

AAEON Launch Eco-Friendly Atom-based Embedded System

IMPULSE are pleased to announce the launch of AAEON�s �Green Embedded Systems� and �Green Communication Servers� as part of their eco-friendly product line. The first unit to arrive is the GES-1100F with several other systems due to launch later on in 2010. All of AAEON�s Green Embedded Systems are certified and fully compliant with ENERGY STAR regulations.

The GES-1100F uses the Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz) processor and Intel 945GSE/ICH7M chipset. In addition, the system supports up to 2GB DDRII (400/533MHz) SODIMM memory. The GES-1100F input/output includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports, four COMs ports, six USB2.0 ports and 8 channels of digital I/O.

As detailed in our previous News Article back in October 2009, the R9 is packed with a wealth of I/O features and uses the latest embedded software environment, the system is based on the Atmel AT91SAM9263 processor boasting a 32-bit ARM instruction set for maximum performance. The Relio R9 is the perfect platform for embedded applications requiring small size, wide operating temperature range, and flexible I/O connectivity.

Available with up to 256MB RAM and 256MB Flash memory, the unmatched I/O features of the Relio R9 extend the possible uses beyond traditional ARM-based applications. Standard I/O includes Ethernet, serial, USB, CAN Bus, digital and analogue interface. This fanless unit is only 69mm in thickness and as a 22�� TFT 300nits WSXGA LCD display (1680x1050) and user-friendly OSD to deliver excellent viewing quality and easy data entry. With its excellent ID and rugged design, the MMT225 is especially ideal for medical image processing and mobile nursing cart.

The MMT225 fully complies with UL60601-1/EN60601-1 medical and CE and FCC Class B certifications. EPIC-5537 � Wide Temperature LX800 Robust EPIC Platform

IMPULSE releases the new 19� industrial-grade 4U rackmount chassis with front-accessible I/O, the AX61460 from our premier IPC partner, Axiomtek.

It offers comprehensive support for both PICMG backplanes up to 15 slots and ATX motherboards. The AX61460 provides front access to two front USB ports and one 5.25� drive bay plus one 3.5� drive bay as well as the I/O card slots. It also has two internal 3.5� drive bays for storage. A wide range of power options, from single PS/2 300W/400W to redundant 400W power supplies, provide customers great flexibility in selecting the optimal solution for their applications. With its friendly design and high capacity, this industrial rackmount case can be adopted for telecommunication, industrial automation, servers � etc.

The system power switch and the reset are located in the front of the chassis. Key features of this exciting new platform are high performance and low power consumption at an extremely competitive price. The GENE-9455 satisfies the growing demand for mobile products in the embedded market.

The GENE-9455 comes with an embedded Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor with a 533MHz front side bus offering fast processing performance at a fraction of the power consumption seen on other mobile CPU�s. In addition a 200-pin SODIMM socket can be populated with up to 2GB of DDR2 400/533 memory. Two Intel 82574L Ethernet controllers provide connection to multiple Gigabit networks enabling high bandwidth network communication. This new board adopts the Intel 915GME+ICH6M chipset and supports the Socket 479 Intel Pentium M and Celeron M Low Power Processors ensuring excellent computing performance at a competitive price. The debut of this sub-compact board will satisfy the need for a balance between size, cost and versatility.

The cost-effective performance of the GENE-9155 is also represented via the support of one 200-pin DDRII 400/533 SODIMM memory up to 2GB along with the inclusion of the Intel 82573L 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet chipset for high-speed network communication support. The storage and expansion interfaces make the GENE-9155 flexible and development-friendly.
